Shira Gottlieb, Psy.D., Licensed Clinical Psychologist
Dr. Gottlieb is a licensed clinical psychologist. She received her B.A. in psychology, with a minor in neurobiology, from Harvard University, and her Psy.D. from the George Washington University.
Dr. Gottlieb completed a postdoctoral fellowship at Family Compass, a child and family group practice in Reston, VA, where she specialized in neuropsychological assessment and therapy services for children and adolescents. She has worked in a variety of clinical settings including: Children's National Medical Center, JLG-RICA (a residential and day treatment facility for children and adolescents), and private group practices.
Dr. Gottlieb has extensive experience conducting evaluations for children and adolescents with attention and learning challenges, as well as other behavioral and social emotional concerns. When evaluating a child or adolescent, Dr. Gottlieb works to provide a comprehensive and individualized assessment of the child's unique strengths and weaknesses. She also has significant experience consulting with schools and working closely with a variety of mental health and educational professionals. With regard to therapy, Dr. Gottlieb utilizes an integrative approach, incorporating both CBT and Family Systems techniques. Treatment goals are discussed with the child/adolescent and family, and are developed with the individual child's needs in mind.
